ABOUT MEHMET ONER
Mehmet Oner was born in 1981 in Turkey. After graduating from Istanbul University's "Theater Criticism and Dramaturgy" program (BA), he started journalism in the mid-2000s. First, he worked as the editor of the culture-arts service at Evrensel Newspaper. In this context, he wrote theatre & cinema critiques and conducted interviews with many names in the Turkish art community. After that, Oner moved to the PR industry and worked as a media director at agencies such as MPR and Effect-Burson-Marsteller. Mehmet Oner, who also has award-winning screenplays and short films, immigrated to Canada in 2016. In 2023, he graduated from the Sheridan College Journalism program with a high-honour degree. During his last year at Sheridan College, he also worked as a research assistant in the project Stories of Home. He is currently working as a freelance journalist.
